Wabma Kadarbu Mound Springs Conservation Park

A little project TCL worked on at Wabma Kadarbu Mound Springs Conservation Park is currently under construction.

A four-hour Cessna flight to the mid north of South Australia, then a one and a half hour bumpy drive along the Oodnadatta track takes you to Wabma Kadarbu where you’ll find the natural springs of ‘Blanche Cup’ and ‘The Bubbler’. These are fragile mound springs created from water within the Great Artesian Basin which finds its way through weak points in the tectonic plates of the earth. It then filters to the surface forming mounded, bubbling ponds – like pimples in the otherwise flat landscape. The overflow creates a wetland and provides a habitat for birds and rare microfauna.

Expected completion to be the end of July 2012.

Please email us any photos if you are out that way.
